ABOUT ALEXANDRIA
Born and raised in Orlando, Alexandria Vazquez Myers is a costume manager, costume designer, and production professional with extensive experience supporting theatrical productions through collaborative leadership, technical expertise, and creative problem-solving. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Costume Design from Rollins College and her Master of Fine Arts in Costume Design and Technology from West Virginia University.
Alexandria currently serves as the Director of Costumes for Orlando Family Stage, where she oversees costume production, shop organization, wardrobe coordination, and the execution of costumes for mainstage and educational productions. Previously, she served as Costume Shop Manager for Florida Repertory Theatre, managing day-to-day shop operations, supervising builds, coordinating production schedules, and supporting costume teams in a fast-paced professional theatre environment.
With experience spanning professional, educational, and community theatre, Alexandria brings a strong balance of production management, technical skill, and collaborative leadership to her work. Her background includes costume construction, crafts, wardrobe maintenance, team leadership, inventory organization, and cross-department coordination. She is passionate about building efficient and supportive costume shop environments while maintaining high production standards, strong communication, and attention to detail throughout every stage of the production process.
Alexandria is committed to fostering inclusive and welcoming spaces within costume production, with a commitment to size and gender inclusive wardrobe practices that support performer identity, comfort, and confidence. She values creating environments where both students and professionals feel supported, respected, and empowered throughout the creative process. Whether mentoring young artists in educational theatre settings or collaborating with seasoned production teams, she prioritizes adaptability, empathy, and open communication. Her passion for costumes as both an art form and a career continues to shape her approach to leadership, storytelling, and production management.
Her past costume design credits include Disney's Finding Nemo Jr. for Orlando Family Stage’s Youth Academy, Sweat for Rollins College, and Tomás and the Library Lady for Children's Theatre of Charlotte.
Additional work includes Florida Repertory Theatre productions of The Miracle Worker and Sylvia, as well as House of Blue Leaves and The Cocktail Hour, both of which received praise from The Wall Street Journal.
Other notable productions include the world premiere of Doublewide, Florida Rep’s 2016 PlayLab winner, along with Curious George and the Golden Meatball, The Giver, Peter and the Starcatcher, School of Rock the Musical (Florida Premiere), and Madagascar Jr. The Musical.
In 2018, Alexandria was featured in Grandeur Magazine as part of their “Grand Faces of SWFL” feature, recognizing emerging creative professionals in the region.
Outside of the theatre, Alexandria enjoys exploring farmers markets, thrifting, museums, antique and vintage shops, traveling, and attending live performances whenever possible. She remains deeply grateful to her familia for their continuous encouragement and support throughout her creative career.
